End for Windows Phone?

So had an experience recently with a Windows phone which actually revealed to me its the end of the road for Windows phones. First question is how many of your friends are using a Windows phone...(Pretty sure few or none is your answer),

so i wondered who then buys the new Microsoft/Nokia Windows phone am always seeing in stores? Did a bit of quizzing from some retail stores and discovered they barely sell this phones, so if no one is buying is Microsoft still manufacturing this now to be called Antiques? Microsoft announced Few weeks ago that it is slashing 7,800 jobs, mostly from the phone-hardware business it picked up from Nokia.

How did Microsoft get to the point of this dead end? Firstly could it be because Microsoft was late to join the modern mobile party. Apple unveiled the original iPhone in early 2007, and Google started to develop Android in 2008. But it was not before February 2010 that Microsoft announced Windows Phone. Ever since, the company has tried to play catch up with other companies, but despite its efforts, things never seemed to be working out.

The lack of big apps on their platforms is another predominant factor and apps lagging on the Windows OS. BBM was first lunched on Android and IOS which left Windows behind a lot of people getting new phones went for these two and hence left Windows a limited amount of consumers.

Also when it comes to Gaming, don't go anywhere close to a windows phone as you will be highly disappointed.

For now there's practically nothing a Windows phone can do that any other phone can not do, hence it might Phase out very very soon...hoping for a coming back from windows in the near future...
