Gionee to come up with Thinnest Smartphone

Gionee is one of the android mobile device manufactures trying to break grounds in Nigeria, I must say they are really making other manufacturers a run for their money. With devices that compete with the likes of Samsung, HTC, Motorola e.t.c.  Gionee currently has a device Elife S5.5 which is just 5.5 mm thick and is set to procude another smartphone which will be the thinnest smartphone. The device has already been certified by China with a codename GN9005 that measures 5.0 mm making just 0.2 inches in thickness (Very soon we will be folding our phone like wallet oooh.....lols).

Now I remember Huawei claims their Huawei Ascend P7 is the thinnest phone which they just released last month... (I guess thats not correct).

To the specifications of the device, the device will be an entry level device with a 4.8 inch display that is 0.2 inch lesser than the Elife S5.5 that is at 5.0 inches. Even the resolutions have also been cut down from 1080p to 720p but the AMOLED screen has been retained. The device will be powered with an un-known 1.2 GHz quad core processor. There is an 8 MP camera on the rear and the front camera is a 5 MP sensor. There will also be 1 GB of RAM memory and 16 GB of on-board memory. These are not great specification considering that devices now come with 3 GB of RAM. The device will come with Android Jelly Bean OS out of the box and will be powered with 2050 mAh battery on the back (the battery capacity seems low to me tho).
